Discovering the Heart of Mykonos | What To Do & What To Try!

When people think of Mykonos, they picture the dazzling party lights, beach clubs, and nightlife. But in partnering with I Wish Mykonos, I set out on a different mission: to seek the island’s quieter heart, to meet the families, artisans, and old kitchens who still live Mykonos in its most authentic form. Over several days, I wandered winding lanes, followed the scent of baking bread, entered humble farm courtyards, and tasted what it truly feels like to preserve a living culture. Here’s how we did it, and how you too can experience the “other” Mykonos. Where we stayed! And it’s perfect for friends & families travelling in a large group! Villa Amra – A Serene Mykonos Escape for Families & Friends Tucked away in the gorgeous Ftelia area of Mykonos, Villa Amra from I Wish Mykonos offers the perfect setting for families and groups of friends to come together and […]

TZATZIKI

TZATZIKI – What’s the Big DILL?!

Does Dill Belong in Tzatziki? My Honest, Greek Answer Let’s talk tzatziki — and let’s talk about the herb-shaped elephant in the room: dill. This is a subject I’ve hesitated to write about, not because I don’t have a strong opinion (trust me, I do), but because it’s one of those topics that stirs up a lot of feeling, especially when I post a tzatziki video! We’re all passionate about tzatziki — as we should be. But if we’re talking about what’s authentic, traditional, and truly Greek, then I’m going to say something that might ruffle a few dill fronds. Dill does not belong in tzatziki. Now, I love dill. I genuinely do. It’s fresh, feathery, and fabulous in so many Greek dishes — like in a spanakopita or mixed through my favourite kolokithokeftedes. But tzatziki? Not for me. It’s nice, don’t get me wrong. But I just don’t think […]

Whats in my pantry Mary's Kouzina

What’s In My Pantry?!

If you’ve ever watched one of my videos and thought, “Her pantry must be so organised…”—well, you’d be half right. Yes, I love pretty jars, tidy containers, and rows of spices lined up like little soldiers. But the truth? Behind the neat labels and coordinated baskets, there’s a bit of beautiful chaos. Because like life (and especially Greek kitchens), a pantry isn’t meant to be perfect—it’s meant to be full of flavour, feeling, and soul. Here’s a look inside my pantry—what I reach for daily, what I keep for special moments, and the ingredients that tell the story of my heritage and curiosity. 🫒 The Greek Essentials These are the heart of my kitchen—the building blocks of my favourite dishes, the flavours that instantly bring me home. Extra Virgin Olive Oil: The lifeblood of Greek cooking. I use it generously, from dressings to frying to finishing soups. Greek Dried Oregano: Sharp, […]

Welcome to Made with Meraki

A beginning, from my heart to yours If you’re here, thank you. Whether you found me through my cooking, my videos, or stumbled here by beautiful accident—welcome. This space is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. A quiet little corner of the internet where I can write, share, and reflect on the things that bring me joy: food, family, tradition, and the small but meaningful moments in between. So, why Made with Meraki? In Greek, “Meraki” (μεράκι) is one of those untranslatable words—rich in emotion and meaning. It’s the kind of word that doesn’t just describe what you do, but how you do it. It means to do something with soul, creativity, and love. To pour a piece of yourself into whatever it is you’re doing—whether it’s making a meal, writing a story, planting a garden, or setting the table for family. But for me, Meraki […]

About Mary

A love for Greece by showcasing an authentic and wholesome cooking style.

Having begun my culinary journey at the tender age of 12, I am now dedicated to inspiring the diaspora to preserve cultural traditions through food. Sharing cherished recipes passed down from my mother and grandmother, weaving a culinary tapestry that keeps us all closely connected to our heritage.

Beyond my culinary skills, I bring art into the kitchen, illustrating family recipes onto kitchen linen—a unique synergy of art and food. My creations offer authentic, wholesome, and nostalgically flavourful experiences, transporting you back to the heart of Yiayia’s kitchen.
